As a coach, my work is about helping people to identify and utilise their strengths to unlock the future potential of themselves and/or their teams.  The coaching process assists with clarity and momentum – clarity regarding the desired future, and momentum toward that aim.

As a Gallup accredited Strengths Coach I am able to offer clients access to the Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment tool and coaching process.  The CliftonStrengths assessment is a Web-based assessment of normal personality viewed from the perspective of Positive Psychology.  This tool introduces a new way of looking at oneself – through the lens of strength.

Why focus on your strengths? When we focus on strengths, we are 6 times more likely to be engaged in our work. This process helps individuals and teams discover, and learn to utilise to best effect, their strongest and most compelling talents.

Coaching is infused with themes of optimism, resilience, and strength development.

Assessment Instruments

I am qualified and experienced in delivering the following assessment Instruments.  These assessments can be utilised in both individual coaching programmes, and group workshops.

Clifton StrengthsFinder

CliftonStrengths, often referred to as “StrengthsFinder”, is an online assessment that helps clients discover what they naturally do best, where they have the most potential, and what makes them exceptional.  The strengths philosophy is the assertion that individuals can gain far more when they expend effort to build on their greatest talents than when they spend a comparable amount of effort to remediate their weaknesses.

Customised results of this assessment can be used in individual and group conversations to assist with making meaningful choices, addressing challenges, and enhancing performance and quality of life.

Assessment results are formulated to help clients both broaden their self-awareness and provide concrete ideas for taking action to advance goals, and develop strengths.

Genos Emotional Intelligence Self-assessment, and,  180 and 360 degree assessments

Many managers I meet express a desire to become more effective leaders. Leadership is fundamentally about facilitating performance. Research shows that a leader’s emotional intelligence or emotional agility is vital to their capacity drive high performance and engagement.

There is a direct link between the way people feel and the way they perform at work. This is one of the most robust and consistent findings in organisational research. In high performing organisations people feel significantly more engaged, cared for, valued, proud, and motivated than those in low performing organisations. Conversely, in low performing organisations people feel significantly more fearful, stressed, disempowered and uncertain.

Research shows that the skills associated with emotional intelligence are fundamental in motivating and engaging team members, facilitating and maintaining a mentally healthy workplace culture, and adapting behaviour to best suit the situation and people involved.

Genos Emotional Intelligence assessments include the Self Report, a 180 degree feedback report, and 360 degree feedback.  These assessments measure how often individuals display the emotionally intelligent workplace behaviours that underlie success. They are supported by a wealth of peer-reviewed research and are accompanied by detailed reports that provide accessible and practical development suggestions.
